The cast hall at PAFA, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, is a place where I always felt a sense of reverence. The hall is lined with plaster casts of classical sculptures, culminating in the full-sized cast of Michaelangelo's David at the end, where the hall makes a dog-leg to the left. When, in the Spring of 1996, I found myself posing for one of Rene Foulkes' classes in front of David, I just had to preserve the moment in this photo. One of the women to my right (photo's left) was in the class; the other two were just visiting from other classes. Facing the camera in the stocking cap is Carla, who is mentioned in the "Different Perspectives" post.
